Inventum Solutions is hiring in Nha Trang
Less code for its own sake. More problems actually solved.
Inventum Solutions is an Odoo Partner based in Nha Trang. We work with shops, restaurants, hotels and factories to understand how they really operate, then digitalise the parts that matter. If you're an intern, a fresh graduate or a junior who wants to ship real work with someone in your corner, let's talk.
It's not just coding
Our clients don't need another app. They need orders that don't slip through, stock counts that match, and staff who stop typing the same thing twice. Code is one tool among several.
The old way
- Take the ticket, build exactly what it says, move on
- Write a custom module for everything, even what Odoo already does
- Measure output in lines of code
How we work
- Ask why first, map the process, then build
- Configure first, then Studio, then server actions, custom modules last
- Measure whether people work faster with fewer mistakes
Why Inventum
No big promises. Here's what joining the team actually looks like.
Real clients from month one
You won't spend a quarter on toy exercises. Within your first month you'll be working on sales, inventory and production workflows for businesses that are running right now.
Mentors who show up
The founding team reviews your code, reads your specs and takes you to client meetings. Ask anything; just show us you tried first.
Odoo 19, all the way to certification
Our team holds Odoo 19 functional certification. We'll back you on the same path with study material, a sandbox to practise in, and people who've already sat the exam.
Slower city, sharp craft
Swim before work, debug a server action after lunch. Nha Trang has less traffic and less noise than the big cities. The bar for the work stays exactly where it is.
Fundamentals still matter
Let's be clear: working with Odoo doesn't mean skipping the basics. AI tools make good engineers faster, but only if they understand what they're doing. These are the things we'll ask about.
SQL and data modelling
Tables, keys, one-to-many and many-to-many. You can write a JOIN and a GROUP BY, and explain why a table should be split.
Python or JavaScript
One language you're genuinely comfortable in. Odoo runs Python on the backend and JavaScript (OWL) on the frontend, so either gives you a way in.
Git
Meaningful commits, branches, and resolving a conflict without panic. You don't need every command memorised, but you should know what you just did to the history.
HTTP and APIs
Requests, responses, status codes, JSON, token auth. Enough to read docs for an API you've never seen and try it out with curl or Postman.
Reading docs
Go to the official docs, read the source when the docs run out, and look before you ask. It matters more than most people think.
Clear writing
A bug report, a spec, a how-to for end users. Write it so someone gets it on the first read, in English or Vietnamese.
Open roles
Four roles, from internship to junior. Salary is based on skills, and interns receive an allowance. Not sure which one fits? Apply anyway and we'll figure it out together.
Workflow Developer (Odoo)
Turn real business processes into working systems in Odoo. Start with configuration and Studio, move on to server actions, and write custom Python modules when the problem genuinely calls for it.
View roleConsultant Engineer (Odoo)
The bridge between the client and the system. Sit down with clients to see how they actually work, configure Odoo, write specs for developers, connect the tools around it and train users until they can run it themselves.
View roleAutomation Engineer Intern
Connect Odoo to everything around it so data moves on its own and people stop retyping it. You'll work with APIs, webhooks, n8n-style automation tools, data cleanup and migration scripts, and some AI-assisted internal tooling.
View roleProcess Analyst Intern
The person on the project who understands the process best. Interview users, draw process maps, write requirements and test cases, then help the team take the system live. Open to business and information systems students with solid fundamentals.
View roleYour first 90 days
Nobody arrives knowing everything. Your first three months are split into clear stages, each with goals and someone keeping an eye on you. By day 90 you'll have shipped work to a client yourself.
- Days 1–30
Learn the business, learn Odoo
Get to grips with sales, purchasing, inventory and basic accounting in Odoo. Set up your environment, read existing modules and pick up small, closely reviewed tasks.
- Days 31–60
Work alongside the team on live projects
Own a slice of an active project: configuration, server actions, data scripts or process maps. Sit in on client working sessions.
- Days 61–90
Own a piece end to end
Take one workstream from analysis to handover, with your mentor reviewing rather than steering. We finish with a proper retro and agree what comes next, certification included.
Life at Inventum
A small team, on-site in Nha Trang. Serious about the work, easygoing with each other.
On-site, flexible hours
We work together in Nha Trang because you learn fastest when you can just turn around and ask. Hours are flexible, as long as the work moves and the team knows where you are.
Honest reviews
Code reviews, spec reviews and internal demos before anything reaches a client. Feedback is direct and kind, meant to help you grow, not to make you nervous.
AI as a multiplier, not a crutch
Use AI to read code faster, draft tests or write docs. We encourage it. But in review, you need to be able to explain every line you're submitting.
Close to the people you build for
Our clients are retailers, restaurants, hotels and manufacturers just down the road. You'll see the software you build being used every day.
How hiring works
Send your application
Your CV, a link to GitHub or something you've built, and a few lines about yourself. No long cover letter needed.
A 30-minute chat
On video or at the office. We ask about what you've worked on, you ask about us. It goes both ways.
A small, realistic task
A compact problem related to the role, done at home, then a conversation about how you approached it. AI tools are fine; just tell us how you used them.
Feedback and offer
Whatever the outcome, you'll get specific feedback. If it's a fit, we'll send an offer and agree on a start date.
FAQ
I've never used Odoo. Can I still apply?
Yes. Most people on the team learned Odoo here. What we need are the fundamentals: SQL, one programming language, Git and the ability to work through documentation on your own. Odoo is built into the 90-day path.
Isn't Odoo work just drag-and-drop with very little real coding?
Not really. We configure first because it's easier for clients to maintain, but when the problem needs it you'll write real Python and JavaScript, with proper review. Knowing when not to write code is a skill too.
Can I work remotely?
We work on-site in Nha Trang with flexible hours. Especially early on, sitting next to your team will teach you far more than working alone over video calls.
What about pay?
Graduate and junior salaries are based on skills, and interns receive an allowance. We'll give you actual numbers in the first conversation so you're not left guessing.
I live elsewhere but want to move to Nha Trang. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Just mention in your application when you could be here, and we can run the early rounds online.
Will using ChatGPT or Copilot on the task count against me?
No. We use AI every day too. What we care about is that you understand and can explain the result, spot where the AI got it wrong, and fix it yourself.
